A call he didn’t expect despite the brilliant results in reception in the last two years of A2. The free Francesco Bisotto is preparing to make the big leap in category to wear the shirt of Cucine Lube Civitanova in SuperLega Credem Banca. The emotion is strong for an athlete who makes daily work his religion, just like the teammate he will support, the world champion Fabio Balaso. For Bisotto it’s time for the first interview as a red and white member.
What effect does arriving at Lube have on you?
Bisotto: “I see the move as a sort of reward for what I’ve managed to build in Cuneo with so much effort. I want to be ready.”
You will play away from your city for the first time.
“This is the ideal moment. I am looking for inspiration and renewal in my life. Going to a top club in the SuperLega is a wonderful novelty”.
How did your love for volleyball start?
“My brother and I started playing for fun with our father who is a former player. Then the process in the youth team began, the chance in the first team in Cuneo and the reconfirmations that allowed me to shine”.
The rest is history. What goals do you have for next season?
“I certainly want to assimilate as much as possible from a technical and mental point of view from a great player like Balaso, he can be a beacon for me. I follow it often and I hope to get as many ideas as possible”.
Besides Balaso, are there other athletes who have inspired you?
“Another free player that I respect a lot is the Polish international Pawel Zatorski”.
In the last two years of A2 you have collected excellent numbers. Even as a kid you weren’t just anyone…
“The best U16 libero award was gratifying, but it was the seasons in A2 that made me grow. In the youth teams I also faced Lube’s peers in a tournament, but we weren’t able to impose ourselves”.
How will the impact be with the Eurosuole Forum?
“It will be enough for me to look up at the displayed banners to be overwhelmed by the history of Lube. The idea of training in a building that has been the scene of great matches and has hosted many champions makes me proud and stimulates me”.
