Matteo Bertoli continues his adventure in Ortona.
Born in 1988, 196 centimeters tall, this is the third season in Ortona. After the experience in the 2019/2020 season, marred by Covid-19, Matteo moved first to Cantù (in A2) and then to Pineto, in Serie A3 to build the most classic of championship killing teams. Physical problems in the final phase of the championship of our Matteo together with other bad luck did not allow the Abruzzo people to reach the much coveted goal.
In the meantime, Sieco Impavida Ortona, in Serie A2, could not complete a desperate comeback by a whisker and ended up in A3. The goal was that of a prompt redemption and Matteo Bertoli was the ideal profile to compose a deadly place four with Leo Marshall.
However, Sieco is not the only one to have set up a scary roster but in the end the colors of Ortona will triumph. The Fearless will win the Serie A3 championship without going through the playoffs and the blue-and-white flag will wave again in Serie A2.
Borrowing from the world of football the now classic expression of Vujadin Boskov “You don’t change a winning team”, Matteo Bertoli is ready to return to the second national series with his Ortona.
«The additions made to the team are, in my opinion, substantial and well-considered. A team that therefore increases its quality. We will certainly be able to have our say against any opponent in a championship that is expected to be very competitive».
But “esthete” for Matteo Bertoli certainly does not mean vacation. The fearless spiker can’t tear himself away from volleyball and during the summer his businesses move to the sea.
“No. I just can’t stay away from volleyball» jokes Bertoli, «We have nine tournaments planned, including some stages of the Italian championship. I will end my summer adventure with the stage in Bellaria scheduled for early September. Once the summer session is over, I will arrive ready and loaded like a spring for the indoor season»
