The Serie A3 Credem Banca championship calendar for the 2023-2024 season has been unveiled. And for Belluno Volley, the debut will be in front of the friendly public: Cus Cagliari, one of the novelties of the white group, will arrive at the Spes Arena on Sunday 15 October. Seven days later, instead, space for the first away game: in Garlasco against Moyashi. Then, on 29 October, the Arena di Lambioi will reopen its doors to welcome one of the most accredited teams in the tournament: the renovated Mirandola Stadium. And if the fourth day will coincide with the first derby of the season (in San Donà), the fifth is empty: in the sense that the rhinos will observe a break, imposed by the calendar. And the ending? It will be with a bang. Or rather, with the derby. Another: in Motta di Livenza, on Boxing Day, for the first leg, and on March 24, in the very last round of the regular season. Furthermore, between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, the people of Belluno will be in Sardinia: because in Cagliari the games are played on December 30th.
«Sooner or later you have to meet them all – is the thought of coach Gian Luca Colussi – so I wouldn’t give too much weight to the scansion of the various days. The year is long and the championship is a spinning wheel: luck and bad luck always balance each other out. More than anything, there was the curiosity to understand where we would play in the midweek rounds and during the Christmas period. Because this will allow us to plan better». Is the white group more “soft” than the blue group? Not according to Colussi: «I don’t see poorly equipped teams in our group. They all seem ready to face a season of A3. And some have strengthened a lot: I’m thinking, for example, of Mirandola, Savigliano, Bologna itself is very interesting and Brugherio is back from an important acquisition campaign. Without considering Motta, who has just been relegated from A2: she is solid and square».
As for the Coppa Italia, the quarter-finals will be staged on 10 January 2024 and the Final Four is scheduled for the first weekend of March: between Saturday 3 and Sunday 4.
Finally, a pleasant novelty: from today Franco Da Re will no longer be only the general manager of Belluno Volleyball, but also a member of the Board of Directors of the Serie A Volleyball League. The prestigious appointment was made official following the ordinary meeting of the clubs : Da Re will represent Serie A3 in a board chaired by Massimo Righi and also made up of Bruno Da Re, Stefano Fanini, Lucio Fusaro, Albino Massaccesi, Stefano Santuz, Gino Sirci, Fabio Mechini and Gabriele Costamagna.
