The formula for the continuation of the men’s volleyball Del Monte Coppa Italia Serie A2 has been defined by the Serie A Volleyball League: the semi-finals are expected to take place in a one-off match on Wednesday 18 January and the final indicatively on the calendar on 5 February, subject to changes for any TV schedule needs.
Following this provision, therefore, on Wednesday 18 January 2023, with the first meeting at 20.30, the Bcc Castellana Grotte will host the Pool Libertas Cantù at the Pala Grotte in Castellana: up for grabs, in a single race, access to the final. The formation coached by Jorge Cannestracci will play their semifinal at home as they are better classified than Cantù at the end of the first round of Serie A2 Credem Banca. The other semifinal, also scheduled for Wednesday 18 January but at 8 pm, will be played in Calabria between Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia and Agnelli Tipiesse Bergamo.
The winners of the two semi-finals, as mentioned, will compete on February 5th.
Of the four semifinalists, Vibo Valentia has already lifted the trophy three times (2003, 2015, 2016), Bergamo twice (2020, 2021) and Castellana once (2012). Only Cantù has never won the Del Monte Coppa Italia so far.
