Gas Sales Daiko Piacenza’s first official step into the Champions League took place this morning in the Council Room of the Municipality of Piacenza with the presentation of the initiatives linked to the team’s participation in the top European club competition and the Libero’s Away playing kit.
The red and white team, making their absolute debut in the Champions League, will face the Turkish team of Halkbank Ankara on Wednesday 22 November at PalabancaSport (8.00 pm) led on the bench by Slobodan Kovac and which includes among its ranks, among others, recent Earvin Ngapeth and Nimir protagonists in the Italian championship.
At the table of speakers present Katia Tarasconi Mayor of the Municipality of Piacenza, Susanna Curti President of the CGI Group, Andrea Anastasi Coach of Gas Sales Daiko Piacenza, Pietro Boselli Deputy General Director of Banca di Piacenza, Edoardo Pagani owner of Pagani Geotechnical Equipment, Roberto Grazioli President of Coldiretti Piacenza and Michela Pinazzi Owner of Studio DV – The Language Club.
“The cheering – underlined the Mayor Katia Tarasconi – will certainly be for our team but we also want to welcome the opposing teams who will arrive in Piacenza with their players and delegations as well as the CEV technicians. And for this reason we have organized guided tours that will introduce arriving guests to the culture of Piacenza, its beauty and gastronomic delicacies. I appeal to the people of Piacenza to be present in large numbers at the match.”
On Wednesday morning, a tour of the historic center of Piacenza and a visit to the Carriage Museum of Palazzo Farnese was organized for the Turkish delegation and the referees of the match, with a qualified English-speaking tour guide.
