Having filed the important success achieved with merit against Sorrento, Avimecc Volley Modica from today focuses on next Sunday’s match on the Tuscania field which will close the regular season of the A3 volleyball championship.
A delicate challenge in which the Modican blue-and-whites have to try to bring home points to protect themselves from unpleasant situations given the very short ranking in the lower middle area and many teams fighting to avoid the play out area.
The success against Sorrento has restored confidence in the whole environment and raised morale in view of the away match in Montefiascone, where the County sextet will face the fourth force in the championship.
“We knew that full success was needed against Sorrento and that it would have been a real game – explains coach D’Amico – for several factors, but I have to congratulate the guys who knew how to face it as they had to because it was important for the positions in the standings which until the last day are not decided. Now – he continues – the match with Tuscania will be fundamental, as was the one with Sorrento. We knew that from the fourth day of return for us they would all be finals and the one with Tuscania will be even more so, because it is the last match of the regular season. This year was a heavy championship which, especially in the second round, put us to the test and at loggerheads, but we came out of it with our heads held high with a good performance against Sorrento, so – concludes D’Amico – we cannot I can only say well done to everyone and think about concluding this season in the best possible way”.
