The representatives of Avimecc Volley Modica met the students of the “Raffaele Poidomani” school this morning to talk to them about the importance of a healthy diet and a right lifestyle not only for those who practice sports, but above all in everyday life of each individual.
The interesting meeting, strongly desired by the blue and white management and proposed and welcomed by Professor Veronica Veneziano, Headmaster of the “Raffaele Poidomani”, was attended by the president of the Modican association, Ezio Aprile, Stefano Chillemi, captain of the County sextet which next Sunday at 18 at the “PalaRizza” against Rinascita Lagonegro will make his debut in the men’s Serie A3 championship, coach Enzo Distefano and the nutritionist of the Modican team, doctor Giuseppe Giuliano who, attracting the attention and curiosity of the students, explained how important it is to eat healthily and lead a healthy lifestyle to always be able to give our best, not only at a sporting level, but during the daily lives of all of us, because it is clear that the right diet and a correct standard of living allow us to always give our best on every occasion and not just in the sporting field.
“Our Club – underlines President Ezio Aprile – intends to be present and alive in the area, not only on the playing field, but also through initiatives like this, aimed at having positive social consequences in combating a modern scourge such as childhood obesity. Sport – he continues – has always aroused attraction and curiosity in children and for this reason we feel the responsibility to help schools and families and direct children towards a positive and healthy lifestyle. I thank the head teacher, Professor Veneziano, for welcoming us and offering us this opportunity.”
The representatives of Avimecc Volley Modica met the students divided into two groups and illustrated to them how eating the right way can often bring benefits to the person and not just on a physical level.
“As an entrepreneur who operates in the food sector and has invested in sport for many years – explains the General Director of Avimecc Volley Modica, Luca Leocata – I believe the importance of transmitting correct information on food education to young people is fundamental. Adopting a healthy lifestyle to combine with sports practice is a good habit that is learned as a child, but which – concludes Leocata – prevents many problems in adulthood”.
