It was very beautiful, and exciting from many points of view. We managed, from a completely new group, to achieve historic results both for the club and for many players. A good group was created, and we had a good harmony: Coach Francesco Denora was extremely good both from a technical-tactical point of view and from a human point of view in managing this team, which it was not obvious that he would arrive where he actually she has arrived. Honestly, I didn’t expect second place, but I was extremely hopeful because I was very convinced of the qualities and abilities of my teammates. Living in the locker room and the gym every day, seeing the harmony that had also been created with the coach, one perceived that there was an improvement and growth not only from a technical point of view, but also from a character point of view. We had a difficult start, due to many physical problems that were solved very well thanks to the medical staff, who I think are the best in Serie A, and who probably someone in the SuperLega envies us. Once we all started working together again, the qualities of each of us were highlighted in the best possible way, and we put together a series of important victories that boosted morale and made us put ‘hay on the farm’ as far as it concerns the classification, up to the DelMonte® Supercoppa Serie A2 Final and the Play Off Semifinal. In my opinion, perhaps we would have deserved more, but it is right to always be ambitious and hungry, and not be satisfied with what comes because it is petrol which allows us to face the next season.
The 2023/2024 season
The next championship will be just as tough as the one just past: it’s true, there won’t be the ‘superpower’ like Vibo Valentia could have been, which then withdrew, but all the other teams are getting stronger. The market is still open, there are teams that are still an open construction site, but all the clubs, having seen the type of championship and the level, and above all the few points of gap between the teams in the Play Off area, it will certainly be a championship difficult, competitive, and with many strong players who have improved because they return from an important championship like the last one, and therefore we will have to work, aware of everything we bring, which must not be seen as an arrival point given that the season it’s passed.
