Serie A2 Credem Banca championship reaches the halfway point with the traditional Boxing Day round: on Tuesday 26 December at 6 pm Delta Group Porto Viro will close the first round on the pitch of Tinet Prata in Pordenone, which this year plays the internal competitions at the PalaCrisafulli in Pordenone.
Despite the holiday period, Garnica and his teammates will continue to train at full capacity these days. After Prata, in fact, there will immediately be the first match of the return round, Saturday 30 December at home against Ravenna. For the Delta Group it is a double appointment of crucial importance: the objective is to erase the bitterness of the last period and close 2023 in the best possible way.
It must be said that to achieve a result in Prata’s home team, a feat will be needed. Second in the standings with 26 points (9 more than Porto Viro, seventh), the Passerotti are still unbeaten at the PalaCrisafulli: six victories out of six so far, with five 3-0s and only one 3-2, the one on the first day against Reggio Emilia. Numbers that eloquently tell the solidity of the game system created by coach Dante Boninfante: Alberini as dribbler (the former Cantù and Motta director is recovering from an injury, but could return to the starting line-up against Porto Viro) and Lucconi – fifth best scorer of the championship – as opposites, Scopelliti and Katalan (who recently set the record for winning blocks in a Serie A match) in the centre, the former Vibo and Bergamo Terpin with the Slovakian Petras in the back, De Angelis libero.
