Another defeat arrives for Conad Reggio Emilia who suffers a 3-1 against Ravenna in the regional derby on Sunday 10 December. After a first set in which the Reggio Emilia team managed to find the right team to prevail over the home team, a general decline allowed Consar to win the next three sets.
Lorenzo Sperotto, Giallorossi director, analyzes what happened: “Coming here to Ravenna is never easy, they have a good playing system, you can see it, they are young guys, but they work hard in the gym. Great respect for the opponent, we must continue to work, I think this is the path to follow, then along the way these defeats also come, but in the end ours is an extremely competitive championship.”
The Reggio Emilias come from two away matches that led to two defeats, but Sperotto does not believe it is the piece of the puzzle that produced these results: “Everyone had the two matches, so I think it is not an alibi or justification. We must always give our best in every physical and mental condition, today there could have been a bit of tiredness, but that cannot be an excuse for our result.”
Captain Nicola Sesto follows his setter in his declarations: “The match had a very important and high specific weight, we faced the first set very well, partly also the second, then Marks’ exit from the court destabilized us, we had to find a new set-up, which lately had been tested little and unfortunately we went under, failing to turn the match around. Ravenna forced the serve, taking advantage of our particular condition and we entered a loop that was difficult to break. We are very sorry for the defeat, but I would like to congratulate Ravenna on the victory.”
