It is a homecoming for Alberto Amato, a talented 1.86m spiker who, after having explored new experiences and challenges in other teams of different categories, has decided to follow the call of his hometown and to wear the jersey of the team that he has seen him grow as a player and as a person.
In fact, Amato’s career began at the age of only 16 with Pallavolo Palmi, facing all the stages of the youth team with determination. He then continued on through the regional championships, gaining the attention of the professionals. In the 2018-19 season, he made his debut in the “Franco Tigano”, obtaining a historic promotion to the A3 series. Team, in which he continued to serve for two and a half seasons, demonstrating his skills.
However, in the 2021-22 season, Amato decided to embark on a new adventure and moved to Bronte (CT) to play in the Serie B championship. The choice represented a moment of growth and maturity for the player, allowing him to expand its perspectives and face new challenges. While in the past 2022-23 season he played in the ranks of Pag Volley Taviano (Le), still in Serie B. But the pride of wearing the Omifer shirt prompted Amato to return to Palmi.
The player has expressed his desire to fight for the team colors and to play passionately for his city. The athlete also underlined the ambitions that the company and the team have for the current season, and highlighted the cohesion and hard work that will be needed to achieve the goals set. “What prompted me to return – he highlighted – was the call of home because this is where I grew up professionally, but also in my character. The main factor where this choice came from is the honor and, above all, the pride of wearing this shirt, therefore fighting for these colours. I certainly expect many ambitions from this season’s project, which certainly is not lacking both from the club and from us athletes, also considering the level roster that has been built. So – adds Amato – with cohesion and a lot of sweat in training I’m sure we will be able to achieve the objectives set”.
