Last week, Pool Libertas Cantù achieved a historic qualification to the semifinals of the DelMonte® Coppa Italia Serie A2. But the club from Cantù is not only the second national series: the youth sector, in fact, includes all categories, from the Under 13 to the Under 19, plus a regional Serie C and a Serie D, the only club in the Como area.
The role of head of the youth sector is in the hands of Stefano “Tete” Pozzi, a life in water polo at the highest levels. Sports Director Maurizio Cairoli has decided to appoint Alessio Zingoni, in his second season on the Canturini bench alongside Coach Francesco Denora, Technical Director of the Youth Sector. With him starts the coordination project of all sectors and in total technical, tactical and ethical progression (with the signing of rules of conduct) oriented towards Serie A. With his weekly participation in training sessions and constant confrontation with the coaches, will aim to enhance the most deserving teams and athletes, also ensuring continuity between groups based on age and according to the highest possible technical vision.
The company, led for 40 years by the President Ambrogio Molteni, has an ambitious goal: to become the reference point of Como volleyball to allow young people to grow within the company and, why not, reach the top, as they have already done some, following the complete evolution of the athlete inside.
