The market for Itas Trentino men’s champions of Italy continues with the arrival of another young and talented player, as had happened a few days earlier with the hiring of Giulio Magalini as spiker. In this case, it is the lifters’ department that injects precious “lead fuel” into its engine, thanks to Alessandro Acquarone’s landing in yellow and blue.
In fact, the twenty-three-year-old director from Sanremo will be the alternative director to Riccardo Sbertoli in the squad entrusted to the new coach Fabio Soli. Technical athlete, tenacious, with excellent hands and also capable of closing the action in first person (as the 87 points of the season average achieved in the previous six competitive years demonstrate well), thanks to Trentino Volley Acquarone will kick for the first time in his career the stages of SuperLega, the most beautiful championship in the world, putting themselves to the test after gaining great experience in the cadet series. Despite being still young, Alessandro has in fact already six seasons in Serie A2 behind him with the Lupi di Santa Croce shirt (the club that launched him to great levels) and, in recent months, with that of Motta di Livenza. His curriculum also includes participation in the 2018 Under-20 European Championship with the Italian national team, sharing that experience with his future teammate Daniele Lavia.
“I had been hoping for such an opportunity for a long time: the call of a top team in world volleyball – were Alessandro Acquarone’s first words as a Gialloblù player – . Now that all this has really happened I’m really excited, because I’m realizing a dream I’ve had since I was a child. I’m ready to make myself available to the team and offer my best, as I’ve always done. I am an agonist and I want to continue to be so even during this experience; I know my role well, I will make myself available to my teammates and the technical staff. I haven’t touched the Trentino environment yet, but I’m sure it will be ideal for taking a step forward in my career”.
“Acquarone is a dribbler with undoubted technical qualities – explained the new Trentino Volley coach Fabio Soli – , who over the course of many seasons in Serie A2 has shown that he has a touch on the ball common to few, but above all he is a boy who has strongly wanted to come to Trento to test himself in an experience very different from those he was used to.
