The king of bomber of 2022/23 Regular Season will crush in a red and white shirt. A.S. Volley Lube announces the engagement with a two-year contract of Adis Lagumdzija, Bosnian opposite with Turkish sports nationality, athlete born in 1999, 211 cm tall, fresh from the CEV Cup 2023 victory with the Valsa Group Modena shirt and currently struggling with the Turkish national team with which he qualified for the Final Four of the European Golden League, which will start on Saturday in Croatia.

Thanks to his 419 points in 22 games (85 sets), the giant returning from a SuperLega Credem Banca in the yellow jersey pulled away from everyone, closing the Regular Season as the best scorer. The only one to come close was Petar Dirlic in Cisterna with 409 seals in the same number of sets and matches. An explosive and reliable athlete, Adis has also shined in the cups and knows the Italian championship very well thanks to his previous experiences in Monza and Piacenza with performances that had already attracted the interest of Lube.

Lagumdzija was born in Bosnia, in Sarajevo, and then moved with his family to Turkey where he made his debut for Galatasaray in the 2016/17 season. The following year he wore the shirt of Arkas Izmir, top club of the Turkish Serie A, showing off with three excellent seasons. In 2020 he landed in Italy for the first time, at Vero Volley Monza, bringing the Scudetto to the semi-final in the Brianza area, then losing to Perugia, and then moving to Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza and staying in Emilia the following year, but with the Modena shirt, closing the Regular Season as top scorer and lifting the CEV Cup to the sky in the yellow jersey.

In 2014 Lagumdzija obtained Turkish citizenship with the right to defend the red and white national team. With the youth team, he won a bronze medal and the MVP title in the Under-19 European Cadet Championship in 2017. With the first team, he earned silver in the European League in 2018, to then improve and conquer the same event in 2019 and in 2021 by MVP.

Adis Lagumdzija’s first words from the red and white opposite:

“I am very happy with my move to Lube! I think it’s more than legitimate to be over the moon when you sign with a club that has played in six consecutive Scudetto Finals. I want to give my contribution to ensure that the team continues to fight at the top on all fronts”.

Tomorrow A.S. Volley Lube will publish the first interview of Adis Lagumdzija in red and white.
