This afternoon, Palasport Allende concluded the preparation for the new Serie A3 championship of Volley Banca Macerata, with a 2-2 in the four sets agreed with Smartsystem Fano for this last joint training session before the official start of the season. In the first set the teams started in balance then Fano took the lead and extended it 21-17 in the final; The comeback was unsuccessful for the red and whites who lost 25-22. However, there was an immediate reaction from Volley Banca Macerata who started strong again, 1-8 at the start of the second set; the red and whites escaped and controlled the game, finishing with a 14-25 lead. Some changes in the two teams but Volley Banca Macerata continued in the wake of the second set and immediately regained control of the result; new breakaway for the red and whites 6-16 and a controlled final that allowed coach Castellano’s boys to move ahead, 18-25. New substitutions and the match is back in balance, the star for Fano is the ex-red and white Margutti who with a positive series at bat allowed his team to escape 14-9; in the end Macerata managed to get closer, but too late to resume the set, which was closed by the hosts 25-18.
Now the appointment is for the first of the championship, which will see Volley Banca Macerata host Just British Bari on Sunday at 6pm.
