The first of a long series of joint training sessions begins, the one between Conad Reggio Emilia and Gabbiano Mantova, a team full of former Giallorossi and newly promoted to Serie A3 Credem Banca.

The training session, fought until the end, ends 4-0 with Reggio’s victory over Mantua.

On the field the starting six + 1, Fanuli chooses the Sperotto-Marks diagonal, in the gang there are Maiocchi and Gasparini with Bonola and Volpe in the centre; while Mantova fields the former Reggio Ferrari and Miselli in the center, who alternate with the former Catellani in the second line, the diagonal is Depalma-Novello, the hammer receivers are Scaltriti and Yordanov.

Conad starts off strong with Sperotto calling Bonola with a fast ball (3-2). Sperotto miraculously saves a ball which gives Maiocchi the chance to foul the wall and thus confirm the break advantage (8-7). Sperotto scores the first ace of the match (11-7). Mantua shortens, but Gasparini scores the ace for +1 (16-15). Marks unloads the ball with full arm from zone four and finds the +3 (21-18). Set point for Conad which takes advantage of taking home the first set thanks to an opponent’s invasion (25-23).

Sperotto plays on Marks who sinks the 1-2. Mantova fouls Marks and holds the lead (3-4). Suraci’s serve, stepped up for Gasparini, ends up in the net; Mantova tries to extend the lead (8-9). Monster block by Bonola and Maiocchi and it’s a tie (11-11). Marks from zone four takes the break advantage (20-18). Suraci who plays as a spiker extends (23-20). Set point conquered by Marks with a parallel in the four meters (24-22).

Third set that begins with a revolutionized formation: Suraci, Guerrini, Sesto and Torchia come on for Marks, Maiocchi, Bonola and Moltini (3-3), After an exhausting exchange Mantova pushes the ball out and Reggio leads (6-5). Ace by Sperotto, Reggio extends (13-7). Suraci confirms the advantage with a diagonal shot (16-12). Winning parallel by Gasparini, served by Sperotto following a perfect reception by Guerrini (20-16). Giallorossi set point which is granted by a guest error (25-19).

The fourth set is played with Catellani-Suraci, Gasparini-Guerrini, Caciagli-Sesto and Torchia on the court (4-4). Gasparini finds space diagonally and keeps the set in balance (8-8). Caciagli is forced to raise a support which Guerrini uses to put his team up 12-9. Suraci closes the attack on the net and Mantova closes by one point (17-15). Monster block by Guerrini (20-16). Giallorossi set point conceded by a Mantua error (24-19). Again, an error by the guests gives the match to the Reggio players (25-19).
