The new long journey of Sir Susa Vim Perugia begins at the PalaBarton!
The calendars of the 79th Superlega Credem Banca championship were drawn up this afternoon in Bologna in the final event of the three-day Volley Market conducted by Raisport journalist Maurizio Colantoni with the singing incursions of the artist Giò di Tonno in front of a large audience and all the highest institutional and corporate offices. Of course, Sir Susa Vim Perugia was present in full force with the president Gino Sirci, who collected the banner for the Italian Super Cup and the prize for the Club World Cup won last season, accompanied by the sporting director Goran Vujevic and the general manager Bino Rizzuto .
The path of Angelo Lorenzetti’s Block Devils has been defined, which starts on Sunday 22 October between the friendly walls of the Pian di Massiano plant against Farmitalia Catania.
A very compressed season and an all in all homogeneous and certainly demanding journey for the bianconeri who will experience some moments on the key card such as the third/fourth matchday match with the matches against Civitanova and then Modena, the sixth matchday with the match against Piacenza and the last two of the regular season when the Block Devils will face the reigning champions of Trento and to follow with Milan.
Moving on to the events, the Del Monte®Supercoppa Italiana (trophy held by the Block Devils) will take place on Tuesday 31 October and Wednesday 1 November in venues to be defined and with the semi-finals which will be Trento-Perugia and Civitanova-Piacenza.
As for the Del Monte®Coppa Italia, the usual formula which provides access to the quarter-finals (scheduled for 2-3 January) for the first eight of the first round with the Final Four on the weekend of 27 and 28 January.
Coach Angelo Lorenzetti’s comment on the calendar:
“I always tell the guys in the gym that volleyball doesn’t wait for you because it’s a fast sport. And the same goes for the Superlega, it doesn’t wait for you. It will therefore be necessary to start strong with the first four days which will certainly be very demanding. Beyond this, today it is important to underline the fact that with the new calendar the new season begins and our focus from today is on the championship. I’m happy to make my home debut. To make our national teams recover as much as possible, we won’t have pre-season friendlies so playing at home will give us an extra day of work. Then for me it will be my debut in Perugia with Perugia. I always say that a new beginning is always magic, I’m sure it will be that day and I hope to share the emotions I will experience with our fans.”
