Guests of the partner I performance Club and in the company of the new sports councilor Alessandro Cantoni, the leaders of Atlantide Pallavolo Brescia toasted the starting season by presenting the entire middle blockers department of the Consoli version 2023/2024 to the press, sponsors and friends.
The backbone of zone 3 will be made up of the confirmed Nicola Candeli, in his fifth year in the blue-and-white team, and Alex Erati, his former teammate (with the opposite Klapwijk) in Ravenna in the Superlega. The group is completed by Dane Mijatovic from Brescia, included in the roster to make up for Esposito’s injury last December, and Dhieu John Majak Malual, a youngster with great potential both in blocking and in attack, ready to take advantage of his first big chance in Serie A.
After the greetings from President Gianni Ieraci “Our tenacity will be rewarded” and Councilor Alessandro Cantoni “Thank you for representing Brescia with great commitment!” the word has passed to the protagonists.
Alex Erati: “I’m happy to finally arrive among the Tucani… This union was in the air and in fact the agreement was reached in an instant, I didn’t even consider other hypotheses when the proposal arrived. I play volleyball because it gives me stimuli and fulfillment and Brescia is offering me this. I embrace the project of aiming high, with an ambitious team and perspective. I played with Candeli and Klapwijk in Ravenna, with Franzoni in Bergamo, I know Tiberti. I think we have what it takes to do well in a championship which in my opinion, unlike last year, will not see a team that dominates. It will be of a high level but with much more open scenarios and I know that we will be able to have our say to stay at the top of the standings”.
Nicola Candeli: “I’m happy with this reconfirmation that I really wanted! I’m not used to talking about alibis but the season that just ended due to some injuries and illnesses that occurred during some key matches made us suffer until the end, but we deserved more. I am overjoyed to find Erati and Klapwijk with whom I shared my personal growth in Superlega. We want to experience a season as protagonists and try to fly high!”
Dhieu Malual: “For me this is the first big opportunity and I am grateful to Atlantis for offering it to me. Serie A is a challenge for which I have to grow: I have elevation, a good float serve and my favorite fundamental is the block, but to make the most of my potential, I have to work and improve my technique. I’m coming to Brescia for this, to grow and reciprocate the trusted club, giving my best contribution to the ambitious sextet that is being built”.
