Libero Leonardo Scanferla, opposites Yuri Romanò and Fabrizio Gironi, spiker Francesco Recine and middle blocker Edoardo Caneschi have been included in the long list of 30 players for the Volleyball Nations League 2023.
The head coach of the national team, Ferdinando De Giorgi, made the names of the 30 players official during the presentation conference held at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan.
The World Champion Italian national team will make their debut in the competition on June 6 in Ottawa, Canada, against Argentina. Week 2 of the Volleyball Nations League is instead scheduled in Rotterdam in the Netherlands from 21 to 25 June; in the last leg of the intercontinental phase, Italy will play in Pasay City in the Philippines (July 4-8). The Quarter Finals will be played in Gdansk (Poland) on 19 and 20 July, the Semi-final on 23 July also in Gdansk and the Final also in Gdansk on 23 July.
