At the end of the calendar year, with the last ball of 2022 having fallen to the ground at the PalaMazzola on Boxing Day, it is necessary to draw up an assessment of the path taken by Gioiella Prisma to draw some sums and look to the future in a clearer and more aware way.
Throughout 2022, Gioiella Prisma achieved 8 victories, each of which will be well remembered by those who have been part of this journey, distinguishing themselves and beating even strong teams and emblazoned clubs in the history of the Superleague, and have 22 defeats behind them, from which however, the Jewel has very often obtained points useful for achieving the final goal of salvation.
General Manager Vito Primavera retraces some stages of the journey in a 360° focus on the near future of the company, from a sporting and entrepreneurial point of view.
General Manager Primavera, can you give us an end-of-year balance, what went well in the calendar year and what could have been improved?
Everything went well beyond expectations, I would say that the balance for the calendar year is very positive both for the salvation obtained in March with the home victories with famous clubs such as Modena and Piacenza, and for the ten points we have in the current ranking.
Is the club satisfied with this year’s team group and what’s boiling in the pot regarding the market?
We are satisfied with the work done by the team even if there is always something to improve.
When I arrived in Taranto, President Bongiovanni and Mister Di Pinto told me that a Superlega club must always be vigilant on the market and we are, even if we don’t have negotiations closing immediately.
Numbers and statistics: last season Gioiella did very well at home, this year they also achieved surprising results away from home. Any thoughts on this?
Each season and each match makes its own story, this year we are in balance: looking at the standings we scored 5 points at home and 5 away, last season we had an inconsistent performance away from home even though the league level was more low.
