Class of 1997, Roamy Alonso’s career began in Cuban amateur tournaments, playing for the provincial formation of Matanzas, his hometown. In the 2019-2020 season he signed his first professional contract, receiving permission to play abroad, hired by Ravenna and made his debut in the Italian SuperLega collecting 22 appearances. The following season he moved to France, in Ligue A, at Chaumont coached by Italian Silvano Prandi where he played for two years and with which he won a French Super Cup and a French Cup.

The 25-year-old Cuban central is in his second Italian experience, he has been permanently in the Cuban national team for some time with which he made his debut in 2016 on the occasion of the North American qualifiers for the Olympics. He is currently involved with the Cuban national team together with the other red and white Simon at the Pan American Games being held in Mexico
In 2018 he won the bronze medal at the Pan-American Cup and was awarded as the best central, the following year in the same tournament he won the gold medal also repeating the individual recognition. Silver at the Volleyball Challenger Cup and at the XVIII Pan American Games, two more golds at the Norceca Champions Cup and at the North American Championship enriched by other prizes as best central.
