A win and a loss arrived, Saturday 24, for Monge-Gerbaudo Savigliano, engaged, in reduced ranks, in the Fabio Mattiussi Memorial, organized in Ciriè by the Valli di Lanzo Volleyball.
In the triangular, played throughout the afternoon at PalaGrassi, in addition to the biancoblu and the hosts, who will take part with high-ranking ambitions in the next Serie B, there was also Garlasco, already faced fifteen days before in joint training by the boys by Simeon.
In the first training session, against Ciriè, Savigliano, without the absent Spagnol, Galaverna and Mellano, chases in the first set, lost 15-25. The reaction comes, however, in the second and third sets, in which Monge-Gerbaudo asserts the advantage category, with two sets-photocopies: 16-14 at the second technical time-out and final victory, in both cases, for 25-22.
In the second test, however, coach Simeon leaves captain Dutto at rest as a precaution, who was slightly injured during the match against PVL, and also sends on the field the two members of the Serie C team aggregated to the group, Claudio Marolo and Ambrogio Quaranta, respectively authors of 6 and 4 points. Against a Garlasco without defections and with the starting sextet on the field, the match is the prerogative of the Lombards, who win the three sets and take home the trophy, despite the good white and blue performance. Top scorer is Leonardo Puliti, author of 20 points for Garlasco.
In the Saviglianese home, the constant performance of Andrea Nasari, 25 points overall in the two matches, and the evident improvement of some game mechanisms, as coach Simeon explains: “We are quite satisfied, even if the judgment is obviously conditioned by the many absences. We knew it from the day before and therefore we presented ourselves to Ciriè with few ambitions of result and with the sole desire to work on some game situations that we knew we had to improve. We did it and now we have some more certainty. In the next fifteen days, we hope that good luck will return to our travel companion, so as to allow us to solve all the ailments and to arrive in the best conditions for the official debut ”.
