On the last day of SuperLega’s 2022 summer Volley Market, a further transaction is reserved for Trentino Volley. In the official list of the Gialloblù roster, delivered this morning to the membership office set up in these days by Federvolley and Lega Vollavolo Serie A in Bologna, the name of the very young middle blocker Martin Berger also appears.
South Tyrolean, born in 2003, originally from Brunico, he was taken in the last hours by SSV Bruneck, the club where he started playing just four seasons ago; represents a further Italian prospect that the management and technical staff wanted to bring to the first team in view of the new season. Up to now Martin had played to the maximum in the Serie C and D regional championships (in the last two seasons he did so in the Sport Team Südtirol of Bolzano), showing interesting physical qualities that led him to experience the current summer in Zocca (Modena), in the ranks of the Italian National Under 20 team. In the staff available to Angelo Lorenzetti he will offer an alternative in the middle of the network compared to the very confirmed Lisinac-Podrascanin-D’Heer trio, from which he will be able to draw important inspiration.
“Besides Liske has always been one of my favorite players, it will be great to be able to play with him – explained Martin Berger after signing the contract -. When I received the phone call from Trentino Volley I was almost frightened: I started playing volleyball only four years ago and the leap forward that was proposed to me is truly remarkable. I come from a Serie C season and the SuperLega is something incredible and unexpected for me, but I am very happy for this occasion. In Trento I will have the opportunity to improve my qualities, I am ready to give everything and live this dream to the fullest, also because I know perfectly well that I am joining a very good club at launching young players on the international scene.
