A few hours ago, at the Hall of Honor of the Municipality of Cuneo, the presentation of the last round of collegiate of the Italian men’s national volleyball team and the Triangolare was held, which the same will play together with the USA and Japan from 18 to 20 August. The DHL Test Match Tournament will be a very important tournament in the approach to the World Cup scheduled from 26 August to 11 September in Poland and Slovenia and will be held in the Cuneo capital.
Shortly after midday, the live connection with Fefè De Giorgi, coach of the national team who for years has lived the city and the Cuneo area both as a player and as a coach of Cuneo: «You can only imagine for me what it means to return to Cuneo. When I learned that there was this opportunity, to create an event before the World Cup right in this city, I didn’t put up any resistance, on the contrary. A special place for me, for my career as a manager and player. I like to remember Bubo Fontana, a very important point of reference in addition to all the people I met: they were wonderful years for me and for my family. I am happy that this event has joined forces on the pitch, I am calm and I know the environment, the plant, the people. It will be something really beautiful and well done. Before leaving for this World Cup it will be nice to go to Cuneo, to experience an important moment before the start of the competition, to see many people and many friends again. We managed to win and lose, we didn’t miss anything. I’m sure everything will be fine”. The blue coach then expressed himself more specifically on the tournament: «They are two important friendlies. The US has grown a lot in VNL reaching the final and losing in the fifth set against an inspired France. Considering also that they have had the change of the opposite, finding themselves without Anderson. Japan had a great VNL, but were unlucky with Ishikawa’s injury.
