Great market hit by Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza. The red and white club has signed the very strong spiker Yoandy Leal, born in Cuba but since 2015 of Brazilian nationality, under contract for two seasons.
After being a protagonist for three seasons in Civitanova and in the last one in Modena, Yoandy Leal arrives in Piacenza to face his fifth season in Italy. A blow of absolute depth that scored by the company of the president Elisabetta Curti, one of the best interpreters of his role in the world is now available to coach Lorenzo Bernardi.
Yoandy Leal wore the Cuban national team shirt from 2007 to 2010, also competing in a World Cup Final in Italy in 2010, winning the silver medal (defeat against Brazil in the last act of the world championship event). Since 2012 he has played in Brazil where he wore the shirt of Sada Cruzeiro, the South American top team, for six consecutive seasons, with which he won 3 Club World Cups (always awarded with the individual recognition of best hitter and on one occasion also MVP), 4 South American Championships, 5 consecutive Brazilian Championships, 3 Brazilian Cup, 2 Brazilian Super Cup.
Yoandy Leal is currently engaged in Bulgaria in the second leg of the VNL with Brazil. Last season in Modena for Leal there were twenty-nine appearances on the field between the championship, the Italian Cup and the Play Off Scudetto for a total of 103 sets played, 413 points scored, of which 31 aces and 21 blocks.
