Francesco Minelli will be the second setter of Volley 2001 Garlasco for the 2022/2023 season. The young man born in 2002 grew up in the youth teams of Vittorio Veneto Volleyball and played the last two seasons in Serie B with the PCG Bresso jersey.
Minelli approached the new category with enthusiasm, arriving in A3 at just twenty years old to make himself available to coach Bertini: “I am really happy with the possibility that the club has given me and I am enthusiastic about this new adventure. My primary goal is to work hard and improve, trying to give my contribution first of all in the gym and then on the occasions when the coach calls me into question. The first season in A3 will be exciting: it is a long and important championship, which involves very different territorial realities ”.
The young director enriches the squad of Volley 2001 Garlasco with his indisputable physical skills, the passion for numbers and a great desire to grow in the volleyball of the greats: “I started play setter in last 4 years, after Giampiero Fasce convinced me to change role for a question of technical characteristics, game vision and leadership. In the youth teams I played as a forward and I’m happy with the change of role: after all, everything passes through the hands of the director, who is always extremely involved in the game. To this is added my passion for numbers, – in fact, he studies Statistical and Economic Sciences – which can help to obtain valuable information on team performance and game management, then orienting the work in the gym on some fundamentals compared to others “.
Francesco will certainly bring freshness to the group, trying to make the most of the experience of his regular colleague Bellucci, the other teammates and the staff: “Every season we share important experiences, which unite the group and enrich the individual as a player and as a person. If I am more shy and introverted at first, getting to know the new teammates little by little, I am sure I will let myself go and integrate well. I’m excited and curious to go back to the gym and meet the other guys ”.
With the arrival of the young director, the pair of A3 series setters is completed. After the confirmations of Giampietri and Puliti and the arrivals of Agostini, Baciocco and Bellucci, the officialization of other important faces of the next A3 series is awaited at the Garlasco house.
