Second (and last) midweek round of the regular season for Pool Libertas Cantù. And it’s again a competition within the friendly walls. Thursday 8 December at 18.00 at the PalaFrancescucci in Casnate con Bernate the match against Delta Group Porto Viro, led on the bench by the former Canturino coach Matteo Battocchio, is scheduled. The Venetians come from a clear defeat at home at the hands of the newly promoted Videx Yuasa Grottazzolina, which followed the stop shift for Covid among the ranks of Portoviresi.
Coach Francesco Denora presents the challenge like this: “We are almost at the halfway point, and with the ranking so short, every point can be decisive. We want to take advantage of the home matches starting Thursday, certainly the opponent is one of the important ones. Porto Viro can be considered one of the ladies of the championship, the ranking is not absolutely true, also because a victory is enough to go back up, but the roster is one of the really important ones, and it is one of the most experienced teams in the category, in the last race they probably paid the stop for the Covid. We are trying to work on the aspects in which to grow by thinking a lot about the quality of the workouts rather than the quantity, in this period with so many commitments it is also important to manage one’s strength. Our goal remains to grow one step at a time and continue to have fun.”
