Cucine Lube Civitanova and Emma Villas Aubay Siena will be on court tomorrow Wednesday 21 December, at the Eurosuole Forum in Civitanova Marche. The two teams meet for the third time in history face to face under the net in an official match. The Italians won both previous matches in four sets in the 2018/19 regular season.
What could have been an ordinary challenge, between the Italian champions and the freshman of the top flight, is catalyzing all the attention because it is the last match of the first leg. The final result and, consequently, the ranking of the top eight will affect three pairings out of four in the first round of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia scheduled for 29 December 2022. The only pairing already defined in the quarterfinals in the single match is Perugia – Cisterna, while Valsa Group Modena, certain of a place among the top four and therefore of playing the quarter-final match at home, will play on 28 December.
If Civitanova wins by 3 points, the red and whites would finish the first leg in second place and the Cup draw would be as follows:

In the event of a victory for Civitanova by 2 points, the picture would change, with Chicco Blengini’s men fourth in the standings:

In case of Siena’s victory in Civitanova with any result, the pairings would change again:
