Daniele Mazzone arrives at the biancoblu home. The signing had been anticipated by the national media in recent weeks. Born in 1992, 207 cm tall, will join the team of President Bisogno who will inaugurate this new adventure in SuperLega starting from 2 October.
Raised in the youth sector of Volleyball Turin (Serie D), he was noticed by Cuneo who included him in the B2 team.
Mazzone was one of the promises of Club Italia in which he spent three seasons between B2 and A1. He is summoned to the national team where he cuts his teeth between Under 19, Under 20 and 21 up to wear the jersey of the National Major with which he wins the Silver Medal at the 2013 European Championships (lived as a central fourth behind Birarelli, Beretta and Piano), a bronze at the 2013 World League and a silver medal at the 2017 Grand Champions Cup.
He wears the shirts of Sora in A2 and subsequently, in A1, of Molfetta and Città di Castello. In 2015/2016 he moved to Trento, again in the top flight, where he spent two years there until arriving in Modena in 2017, with which he won the Super Cup in 2018 and where he remained for five years until this new experience at Emma Villas Aubay Siena.
On the white-blue roster Mazzone – in addition to some athletes who grew up with the national team – finds Petric, Pinali and Van Garderen, all from their experience in Modena, and Coach Paolo Montagnani who trained him in Città di Castello.
Daniele Mazzone has 13 seasons in Serie A and 2144 points scored. Effective in his role, with excellent attacking skills, Mazzone is another goal scored by the biancoblu staff less than a month after his official arrival in the SuperLega.
