Denis Karyagin will be a Vero Volley Monza player also in the 2022-2023 season. The Bulgarian spiker born in 2002, one of the most interesting prospects in the continental volleyball scene, will continue to wear the jersey of the first men’s team of the Monza reality in SuperLega Credem Banca.

Karyagin’s first experience in Monza ended growing up, thanks to excellent performances especially in the second half of the season (to remember those against Piacenza and Verona in the second round, both closed with 12 and 13 points respectively). The number 2 has in fact scored, in 35 appearances, between the Championship, Play-Off Scudetto, Play-Off 5th place, Del Monte® Coppa Italia, Del Monte® Supercoppa and CEV Cup, and 89 sets played, 103 points, 38.8% in attack, 3 aces and 12 blocks. The Bulgarian hammer was among the protagonists of the Rossoblu’s winning ride towards the first continental title in their history, and was also awarded once as MVP: Monza vs Mladost Zagreb (16th in the final return CEV Cup 2022).

CAREER AT A GLANCE
Raised in Neftohimik Burgas, Karyagin joins the first team in the 2018-2019 season. With the Bulgarian club, in addition to participating in the Champions League 2019, 2020 and 2021, he won two league titles (2019 and 2020), a Bulgarian Cup (2020) and two Bulgarian Super Cups (2019 and 2020). In the 2021-2022 season he was bought by Vero Volley Monza, a reality with which he won the CEV Cup 2022. Considered in his country among the most talented volleyball players in his role, Karyagin was part of the youth national teams, representative of which he was captain at the World Cup Under 19 of 2019, then making the jump in the category in the major selection at the VNL 2021, of which he still belongs. Karyagin comes from a sports family: his father Viktor, born in Georgia, was also a volleyball player for Neftohimik, while his mother Eleonora Mladenova is a former basketball player who was Bulgarian champion with the Montana team.
