Rome will be the home of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia 2023: the doors of the Eternal City will open again to the great SuperLega event on 25 and 26 February 2023.
The Palazzo dello Sport in Rome is preparing to host the forty-fifth edition of the trophy, which will be contested again in a Final Four: the Semifinals are scheduled for Saturday 25 February, while the “main event” will be staged on Sunday 26, the Final which will assign the Italian Cup. The event will be organized by the Serie A Volleyball League in collaboration with the FIPAV Lazio Regional Committee and the FIPAV Rome Territorial Committee.
The four teams that will win the Quarter Finals scheduled for 28 and 29 December 2022 will qualify for the Del Monte® Coppa Italia 2023 Final Four. Even the Quarter Finals grid is still being defined, with a great balance in the standings that suggests the wonderful show, sporting and not only, which will await volleyball enthusiasts and the “curious” who, carried away by the constantly increasing following of high-level volleyball, will be able to admire the strongest players on the planet live.
The last major event of the Serie A Volleyball League in Rome was the Del Monte® Coppa Italia in February 2012, now eleven years ago, still in the EUR district. At the time it was Itas Diatec Trentino that won the trophy, overcoming Lube Banca Marche Macerata at the end of a great comeback ended 18-16 in the tie break. The two teams had prevailed in the Semifinal on the previous day against Sisley Belluno and Casa Modena.
