After 11 years at Lube and 13 titles won in red and white, the paths are separated between the Italian champions and the most successful player in cooking history. Jiri Kovar closes a wonderful journey with great satisfaction, that of having provided an important contribution in the Play Offs of the season just ended by contributing with his plays to the conquest of the seventh Scudetto, his sixth personal (in 2012 and 2017 also individual awards as MVP of the Play Off Finals). The Czech naturalized Italian volleyball player greets Lube after winning 1 Club World Cup, 1 Champions League, 6 Scudetti, 3 Italian Cups and 2 Italian Super Cups. Over the years, the hitter with the number 2 on his back has shown great attachment to the shirt and got up after every injury or accident on the road, finding himself stronger and more motivated.
Jiri Kovar’s greeting:
“My story with Lube ends with the awareness of having given everything for the Marche fans and the red and white shirt. This is sport, nothing continues indefinitely. I am happy to have helped the team to win an assigned Scudetto, but in the end this changes little because my path would have come to an end anyway. I have been very good at Lube and I also believe I have demonstrated by giving up the calls from other teams over the years, turning my back on greater economic offers so as not to betray the shirt. The best memory? Too complex to reduce this long and intense story to a single frame. Each vintage has left me something and each success has moved me. I like to look back and see that we have won a lot. I had a good relationship with all the coaches and teammates. The balance is very positive, I hope I have left a good memory! A new chapter is opening for me ”.
Volley Lube thanks the athlete for honoring the shirt by helping the Club to reach prestigious goals. Best wishes go to Jiri for her professional future and life path.
