Bitter debut for italian champs Cucine Lube Civitanova in Del Monte Supercup semifinal, with a loss versus Vero Volley Monza, who well deserved tomorrow’s final with a good 3-1 win. Eccheli’s team started the game with the right step by winning 25-22 first set, and dominating second 25-16. Gianlorenzo Blengini’s team reacted in third with a 25-21 win cutting the distances, but losing fourth 25-20, giving to Monza the chance to lift the trophy tomorrow at Eurosuole Forum. Outstanding performance by Georg Grozer with 21 points and Donovan Dzavoronok with 18 points, in a great team performance. Best scorer for Lube was Santos de Souza with 15 points.
