After the easy win of Sir Safety Conad Perugia over Azimut Leo Shoes Modena in first semifinal, the second was a fighting one, with Cucine Lube Civitanova and Itas Trentino exchanging advantages all game long. These two teams don’t love each other, they faced in the World Championships for Clubs final in Poland last december, where Trento earned the title of World Champions, and last january Lube snapped the 21 game winning streak of Trento at Blm Group Arena in Trento. It was a good start for Ferdinando De Giorgi’s team who won first set 25-21 running a good Osmany Juantorena. In second Angelo Lorenzetti’s team reacted with Aaron Russell and Uros Kovacevic in rhythm, tying the game with the 25-21 win of second. Lube stepped up in third grabbing the lead 25-19, but collapsing in fourt, losing 25-15, with Trento who forced the game to the tie break.. In the fifth set Fefè De Giorgi’s team stepped up again, winning 15-10 with a great performance of bulgarian opposite Tsvetan Sokolov, who finished the game with 18 points, best scorer of the game. On the losing side the best socrer was Uros Kovacevic with 17 points.
So tomorrow big and entrhusiastic finaòl between the defending champs Sir Safety CVonad PErugia, looking out for the double, and Cucine Lube Civitanova, who will try to snap the losing streak in a final.
