It was a good one for Leo Shoes Modena in the first Del Monte Supercup Semifinal, with Andrea giani’s team who defeated home team and italian and european champs Cucine Lube Civitanova.
After a good start by Lube in first set, taking a big advantage, Modena fought back, coming back in crunch time and winning the set 25-23. Also in the second it was a balanced one, but once again in the key moments of the partial Andrea Giani’s team took better decisions, thanks to a brilliant night of american setter Micah Christenson. The second was for Modena 25-21, but in the third Lube reacted, killing four match points to Modena and winning 29-27 the set, keeping high the hopes. But in the fourth Modena stepped up again, and took home the win, clinching the tomorrow’s big final spot. Great game for polish Bartosz Bednorz with 18 points, great also Matt Anderson and Daniele Mazzone with 17 points each (Mazzone 7 blocks). The best scorer of Lube was Leal with 18 points.
