SuperLeague Credem Banca
The time has come, the 2018/2019 Credem Banca Superleague season is upcoming. In this weekend the top teams in the world will face each other to hunt the defending champs Sir Safety Conad Perugia, looking forward the Superleague title, and at the same time to avoid the relegation in Serie A2, rule back in this tournament after several seasons.
Consar Ravenna – Revivre Axopower Milano. Debut in front of RAI Sport cameras at Pala De Andrè for these two interesting teams, 5 wins for Ravenna in the previous nine matches, and 4 wins for Andrea Giani’s team. Brand new Ravenna’s coach Gianluca Graziosi is looking forward to continue the tradition of Porto Robur Costa, with a young and strong team. After sixth place in last season, Revivre Axopower Milano is looking forward to improve those pacing in last season.
Itas Trentino – Emma Villas Siena. These two teams never met each other in Superleague. Angelo Lorenzetti’s team is coming from a great performance last weekend in Perugia for Del Monte Supercup, reaching the big final eliminating the defending champs Sir Safety Conad Perugia, and losing at the tie break by Azimut Leo Shoes Modena. On the other hand EmmaVillas Siena is a newcomer in Superleague, but with a big and important roster, with last season’s adds as Fernando Hernandez, Marouf and Ishikawa, looking forward to stay in the big league for long long time.
Sir Safety Conad Perugia – Top Volley Latina. Home debut for defending champs Sir Safety Conad Perugia, with a bitter taste in mouth after the two losses in two games in Del Monte Supercup on the home turf, losses suffered by Itas Trentino and Cucine Lube Civitanova. 12 games between these two teams and 11 wins for Perugia.Latina will see the debut on the Lazio’s team bench of former Vibo’s coach Lorenzo Tubertini. Will be an interesting challenge, with the defending champ obviously favourite.
Azimut Leo Shoes Modena – Globo Banca Popolare del Frusinate Sora. Five wins in five games played for Modena versus Sora. Modena is in an enthusiastic moment, after the great win in Del Monte Supercup, with the dynamic duo Julio Velasco and Ivan Zaytsev who made immediately some waves. On the other hand Sora will count on the experience of Rafael and on the power of Petkovic.
Kioene Padova – Cucine Lube Civitanova. 43 games between Padova and Lube in the history of Superleague and only 6 wins for the home team. Valerio Baldovin’s team is ready for the challenge versus a Cucine Lube Civitanova, natual favourite of this game, but coming from a bad loss versus Modena in Del Monte Supercup semifinal in Perugia last weekend.
Vero Volley Monza – Calzedonia Verona. At Candy Arena Verona will play for the nineth win in a row versus Vero Volley Monza. The home team is coming from some big changes in this season, with brand new coach Fabio Soli, arrived in Brianza after two positive seasons in Ravenna. Nikola Grbic’s Calzedonia Verona will play with veteran hammers Savani and Birarelli, who will put experience to the team.
Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia – BCC Castellana Grotte. Two interesting teams from south Italy, 5 wins for Vibo and 4 wins for Castellana Grotte in the previous 9 matches. Some interesting players in these two teams, for Paolo Tofoli’s team players as Falaschi and Renan Buiatti, together with Zingel and Mirzajanpour. Will be a very interesting games.
