On today took place the Champions League draw for Playoffs 12, who saw three italian teams involved.
For Sir Colussi Sicoma Perugia the opponent will be turkish Halkbank Ankara, for Cucine Lube Civitanova will be polish PGE Skra Belchatow, and for Diatec Trentino frenchmen Chaumont VB 52 Haute Marne.
Three strong opponents for the italian teams, but all the three clubs could be able to reach at least Playoffs 6.
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FORMAT
Two preliminary rounds (2nd e 3rd Round) will choose 20 teams for the Pool Round, 5 groups with 4 teams.
First and second of each group, together with the best 2 thirds. CEV will choos the Final Four host in these 12 teams, who will be one of the four teams, and third best tshird will replace the hosting team.
Final rounds will be PlayOffs 12, PlayOffs 6 and Final Four.
Fox International Channels Italy has the tv rights of Champions League, and will broadcast the games of italian teams on Fox Sports HD, 204 SKY, Fox Sport Plus, 205 SKY and Sky Sport 3 HD, 203 SKY (all games are available on streaming on www.laola1.tv)

In this week Trento defeated belgian Noliko Maaseik in Champions League, and on sunday they will need to win to secure the fourth place in the playoff bracket. Moza will try to win to close the regular season with a little satisfaction.

Padova won in last round on road at tie break versus Taiwan Excellence Latina at PalaBianchini. Modena is in third place in Unipolsai Superleague standings with 57 points, and in playoffs will face one between Milano, Piacenza or Ravenna.
Biosì Indexa Sora – Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia. In previous matches between these two teams, 10 wins for Sora and 4 for Vibo Valentia. Probably these two teams could face each other in eight finals of Playoff Challenge, with Sora still at 10 points in the standings, and with Tonno Callipo with 13 points. An interesting challenge looking forward next Playoff Challenge competition.
Sir Safety Conad Perugia – Bunge Ravenna. 2 wins for Ravenna over Block Devils, and 11 wins for Perugia, in the previous matches between these two clubs. Lorenzo Bernardi’s team is in great shape in thiese part of the season, after the sixth win in a row in Champions League over defending italian champs Cucine Lube Civitanova. On the other side of the net, after the 3-0 win over Monza and the semifinals of Challenge Cup clinched, coach Fabio Soli’s teamady clinched also the Unipolsai Superleague Playoffs, where they will face one between Perugia, Civitanova or Modena.
Revivre Milano – Taiwan Excellence Latina. 13 games between these two clubs, 4 wins for Revivre Milano, 8 for Taiwan Excellence Latina. Andrea Giani’s team is coming from the clear win in Bari at PalaFlorio versus Bcc Castellana Grotte, with february MVP Klemen Cebulj who will be awardedbefore the game. Latina lost at tie break on the home turf versus Kioene Padova, will finish the regular season in eleventh place.
Cucine Lube Civitanova – BCC Castellana Grotte. 3 wins for Lube and 2 wins for Bcc in the previous 5 matches between these two teams. Giampaolo Medei’s team won at tie break at PalaBanca in Piacenza over Wixo Lpr, securing second place in the standings. Bcc Castellana Grotte lost on the home turf at PalaFlorio in Bari versus Revivre Milano. If the standings will be the same, Castellana Grotte will play versus Latina in forst round of Playoff Challenge.
