Once again Diatec Trentino defeated Lpr Piacenza, this time 3-1 at PalaTrento in Game 2 of Cev Cup Quarterfinals, and clinched the access to Cev Cup semifinals, where they will face Fenerbahce Istanbul. This is the third time in a row that Trento is between the top four teams in an European competition, as they did in 2015 in Cev Cup, in 2016 in Champions League, and in 2017 once again in Cev Cup.
Angelo Lorenzetti’s team sealed the accesso to semifinals by winning first two sets 25-20 and 25-22, then losing the third 25-22 and easily winning fourth 25-15.
The best scorer for Trento was Tine Urnaut with 9 points. Angelo Lorenzetti put on court all the players of the bench, a good performance for veteran middle blocker Matteo Burgsthaler with 7 points.
