In 2017 CEV Cup quarterfinals the two italian teams, Trentino Diatec and LPR Piacenza will face each other, in an all italian quarterfinal. Trento and Piacenza faced each other 50 times (32 wins for Trento, 18 for Piacenza), all in the italian championship. This will be the fourth all italian game in Europe for Trento, all the three previous versus Lube, in Champions League: 3-0 in 2009 Semifinals dell’edizione 2009, 2-3 and 3-0 in 2012 PlayOffs 6, and 3-0 in 2016 Semifinals.
For Piacenza will be the sixth game versus another italian team in Europe. The previous games were versus Lube in 2014 Champions League, where Piacenza eliminated Lube at golden set. In 2010 Cev Cup losing in semifinals versus Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo, in 2008 Champions League 2008 defeating Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo in PlayOffs 12, and after eliminating Sisley Treviso in Semifinal, and in the big final of Cev Cup 2004, losing versus Kerakoll Modena in an all Emilia Romagna’s final.
Tomorrow Lpr and Diatec Trentino will play at PalaBanca at 20.30, Game 2 will take pace wednesday 15th march at 20.30 at PalaTrento.
