Sir Safety Conad Perugia concluded Regular Season with a convincing win in front of 4000 of PalaEvangelisti, defeating 3-0 Calzedonia Verona. These three points weren’t enough for second place for Perugia, because of Trento’s win in Monza, but the game gave back some good signals to Lorenzo Bernardi, the team is healthy and ready. 6 aces (five from Birarelli and Podrascanin), 56% in attack, all the team did an oustanding job. Mvp of the game Alexander Atanasijevic finished with 14 points and 67 % in attack. Good gamer also for Aaron Russell, 12 points for the american spiker, and for serbian middle blocker Marko Podrascanin, 10 points for him. Verona was a bit in trouble, suffering the servo of Perugia, and struggling in attack, with alot of mistakes. Only Mitar Djuric (18 points with 67% in attack, the best scorer of the match) was good for Nikola Grbic’s team.
Ivan Zaytsev (Sir Safety Conad Perugia): “We wanted to finish regular season with a great game, and we did it. It wasn’t enough for third place, we are happy and now we are ready to face the playoffs. We had continuity all game long, but we can do even better”.
Andrea Giovi (Calzedonia Verona): “We weren’t consistent all game long. It wasn’t easy to play here, Perugia put us under pressure, we need to learn how to handle the pressure, because in playoffs we will face alot of these moments. It was great to me to come back at PalaEvangelisti, I got energy all game long”.
