Brand new coach and old friend. Giampaolo Medei is brand new coach of Cucine Lube Civitanova, succeeding to Gianlorenzo Blengini, Italian National Team coach with Medei as assistant coach.
Medei is born in Treia (Macerata suburbs), and grew up with Lube in youth leagues from 1994 until 2001.
Lube’s new coach won Cev Cup with VB Tours, defeating in final Diatec Trentino one month ago. Medei was also the assistant coach of Blengini with italian national team, who won with Italy silver medal at last Olympics in Rio.
So this is an homecoming fir Giampaolo Medei in Civitanova, looking forward to defend the title in Superleague next season.
