Cucine Lube Civitanova made another fundamental step toward the Unipolsai Superleague Championship, by winning at tie break at PalaTrento on Diatec Trentino, in a big marathon. After 25th april win in Game 1, Gianlorenzo Blengini’s team took a serious lead in the series, now in front 2-0, with the chance to close the series next Sunday 7th may on the home turf at Eurosuole Forum, live on Rai 3.
As we said, it was an emotional marathon, 37 minutes the first set, concluded 33-31 in favour of Lube, 38 minutes in fourth set, with the amazing Diatec Trentino’s comeback, who killed four match points to Lube, winning 30-28 the set. Lube played an amazing game, with a great performance of Mvp Osmany Juantorena, 25 points for Cuban Italian, perfect in the serve, and amazing in attack, well supported by Tsvetan Sokolov, 20 points for the bulgarian, together with Dragan Stankovic, 15 points and some great fundamental points, and Jiri Kovar, 14 points. After 23 consecutive wins at PalaTrento, Diatec Trentino lost one game, a bloody loss which cost to Angelo Lorenzetti’s team the 0-2 in the series. It was a great game anyway for Trento, able to fight back in every bad moment, with a great performance by opposite Jan Stokr, 27 points for the Czech. Diatec Trentino suffered the bad night of slovenian Spiker Tine Urnaut, only 9 points for him, with Lorenzetti who didn’t found any answeres from the bench. Now Trento will face a no tomorrow game next sunday at Eurosuole Forum, down 0-2 inthe series, forced to win if they want to stay in the series.

Angelo Lorenzetti (Diatec Trentino): “We made some mistakes under pressure, soffering their serve. In Game 3 we’ll have a tough mission, we’ll play a no tomorrow game. We will have to play our best volleyball, now we are sad but not disappointed, because we gave everything on the court, the promise we made ourselves before the game was to never give up, whatever would happen, and we did it”.
Osmany Juantorena (Cucine Lube Civitanova): “In fourth set we struggled alot, but the reaction on the team was great. We won in Trento, big compliments to all the team. On tonight we did a big step toward the final win, but now we will need to win one more game, so now we are focused on Game 3″.
