After one year of absence Sir Safety Conad Perugia will be back to Del Monte Italian Cup Final Four after the clear win in quarterfinals at PalaEvangelisti versus Kioene Padova. Once again it was an easy one for Lorenzo Bernardi’s team, the same result of three days ago game, still at PalaEvangelisti and still versus Padova, still with first two sets dominated and still with the third in balance. Mvp of tonight’s game is Ivan Zaytsev, 16 points, with 52 % in attack, 3 blocks and 60% in reception, a perfect game for the hammer of Perugia. Good offensive game aslo for Russell,12 points, Atanasijevic, 9 points, and Podrascanin, 7 points. For Padova once again a night to forget, rumbled by the power of Perugia. The best scorer for Baldovin’s team was Luigi Randazzo with 15 points.

It was an easy one for Cucine Lube at Eurosuole Forum in Civitanova Marche, where Lube defeated 3-0 Bunge Ravenna (25-20, 25-19, 25-21) clinching the access to Del Monte Italian Cup Final Four (for the eighth time in a row), that will be played next 27th and 28th january 2018. The defending Italian Cup champs put on the floor a great offensive performance, with Mvp Osmany Juantorena as best scorer with 14 points. 10 points also for Davide Candellaro and Taylor Sander, with Tsvetan Sokolov with 9 points, after the injury of sunday. On the other side of the net Bunge Ravenna struggled in the crunch time of the sets. The best scorer for the team from Romagna was Marechal with 10 points, and Buchegger with 9 points.

We saw that Ravenna could be dangerous in the serve, but we were great in reception, keeping the focus and be carefull and determined. I want to thank the medical staff, who gave me back Sokolov after only three days. On sunday we’ll play again versus Ravenna, they will be more tough, trying to do something better”.

After three losses in three oficial games into 2017/2018 season, finally Diatec Trentino stepped up and won probably the most important game of this early season, by defeating Gi Group Monza at PalaTrento in Del Monte Italian Cup Quarterfinals, clinching the access to the Final Four next january 2018. We don’t have to forget that Angelo Lorenzetti’s team has been three times finalist in last three edition of Final Four. It was the win n.500, but it wasn’t an easy one. In first set Miguel Angel Falasca’s team was in the lead 21-18, then Trento came back and grabbed the win 25-23 in the set. Since that moment Diatec Trentino owned the game, by winning thew two remaining sets 25-20 and 25-18, clinching the access to Final Four. The best scorer for Trento wasopposite Luca Vettori with 16 points, and Uros Kovacevic behind with 14.

This is the start of the season, we should work in practice and grow up. We need to come back into the gym and don’t lose the enthusiasm”.
