A good Kioene Padova, focuse and tough, took home the 3-0 win in the Del Monte Italian Cup16th final, on the home turf atKioene Arena versus Superleague rookie Bcc Castellana Grotte. Middle Blocker Alberto Polo was the Mvp of the game, almost perfect all game long. The team from Puglia was in trouble in attack, paying the bad night of greek Georgios Tzioumakas.

In the end a good win for Alberto Baldovin0s team, who clinched the Eight Final spot, playing next thursday 12th october at PalaBanca versus Wixo Lpr Piacenza.

Alberto Polo (Kioene Padova): “It was a tough game for us, we stayed focused looking forward to the score, but Castellana Grotte was very good, they fought onto every single ball. These kind of games make us grow up, these battles are always good for our mentality”.

Giorgio De Togni (BCC Castellana Grotte): “It’s normal this middle level of volleyball, we are in Superleague but it’s still early in the season, and the mechanisms of play are not so good sometimes. Padova was good in profiting all the chance we gave them to put a gap in the score. Now we have to work hard and restart from this loss, looking forward the start of Superleague”.

Biosì Indexa Sora started their brand new adventure at Palasport Città di Frosinone, far from PalaGlobo Luca Polsinelli for all the next upcoming 2017/2018 Superleague season. Despite being comfortable on the brand new volleyball court, Coach Mario Barbiero’s team struggled in the 16th final of Del Monte Italian Cup, losing more or less clearly by Revivre Milano, who played an outstanding game, especially in the middle with Taylor Averill (12 points) and Matteo Piano (10 points), and from place 2 and 4 with dutchman Nimir Abdel Aziz, best scorer of the game with 17 points. Before the game coach Barbiero said they were in trouble, with few sets played in test matches, and being without right rhythm of the game. Biosì Indexa Sora struggled in first set, losing 25-18 after being down by ten points. Sora got into the game only in second set, having two set points on 24-22, both killed by Revivre, who gained the win in second 26-24. In thurd oince again Andrea Giani’s teaam grabbed an early lead and never looked back, clinching the Eight Final spot, lookinbg forward the game versus Andrea Giani’s former team, Calzedonia Verona at Agsm Forum next wednesday.

Mario Barbiero (Biosì Indexa Sora): “This was our first real game in this season, I cannot say nothing to my players, they were good all game long. We are missing continuity, we have to work hard on this, we are already working on this aspect. We could do better in this game but everybody did their part”.

Andrea Giani (Revivre Milano): “Our first official game, it was important for us grab a win and take home the access to Eight Final. We put alot of pressure to Sora with our break part of play, especially in second set, when we came back from 22-24 killing two set points and winning the set. We had good quality of volleyball”.
