Diatec Trentino won 3-0 versus Revivre Milano at Palayamamay, despite the strong week they faced, with Del Monte Italian Cup Final four, and the road game in Champions League. non accusa la stanchezza di una settimana ricca di impegni e si impone con il massimo scarto davanti ai 3361 spettAngelo Lorenzetti’s team has been challenged in the right way by Revivre Milano in first and part of the second set.
But Trento is strong, 58% in attack for Diatec, with 38% for Milano. 64% (33% perfect) in reception for Trento and 38% (21% perfect) for Milano.
These are the key statistics of the win for Diatec, who showed good shape and strength.

Giorgio De Togni (Revivre Milano): “We expected Trento tired, but it wasn’t. They showed to be in good form since the start of the game, they wanted to win. Giannelli on today was great. We wanted to continue our good performances after the games versus Piacenza and Verona, but we did it without continuity. Now, for us, the important games are upcoming, and we don’t have to make mistakes. I want to thank our wonderful fans”.

Filippo Lanza (Diatec Trentino): “After the Italian Cup and the road trip in Finland, we lost part of our energy, but we arrived here in milano and played a good game. We played with the mind, we profited of the chances milano gave us to close the game. A good result for us, looking for the next game versus Verona. We need to be focused and humble. We gained big finals, now it’s time to win”.

Gabriele Maruotti (Top Volley Latina): “We can be happy of this game and our performance, alot of players from the bench, and every player gave his contribute. We’ve been good in fourth set, when we came back to tie the game. Now we’re approaching a tough period, the next 20 days. We are working well in the gym, we will give our best”

Viktor Yosifov (LPR Piacenza): “It’s a very important win, we left a point, but we won. It’s always great to me to come back in Latina, it’s always a great pleasure to come here and see alot of old friends”.

For Ravenna it was one of the best performances of the season, especially down the net, with an outstanding job in blocks. It was a bad day for the spikers of Muguel Falasca’s team, in trouble all game long in finding the right rhythm in attack, suffering alot of blocks by Ravenna. On the other hand coach Soli shined with his best player of the game, Marten Van Garderen, MVP of the game with 18 points. For Gi Group Monza the best scores was veteran Vissotto Neves, with 13 points. Fromm 11 and Verhees 10 for Monza.

MVP Marten Van Garderen (Bunge Ravenna)
Attendence: 2400

Fabio Soli (Bunge Ravenna): “We played a great game, playing with attention and energy. We had few mistakes and a good reaction in their best moment, you should act this way if you want to win this kind of games. Everything was good with our performance, this happened because we worked hard in practice in last two week. A great game for Van Garderen, very effective in the serve and down the net”.

Iacopo Botto (Gi Group Monza): “We paid the price of alot of bad receptions, we suffered for all the game their serve. We played a bad game, we lost our confidence during the match, especially in third and fourth set, where we completely lost our way. Now we have to focus on the next games, working in practice and be ready for wednesday’s game versus another tough opponent, the defending champs of Modena”.

Calzedonia Verona – Azimut Modena 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 26-24) – Calzedonia Verona: Baranowicz 0, Kovacevic 12, Anzani 6, Djuric 11, Randazzo 12, Zingel 9, Frigo (L), Giovi (L), Ferreira 0, Lecat 0. DNP Paolucci, Stern, Mengozzi. Coach Grbic. REFEREES: Cappello, La micela sandro. NOTES – sets: 24′, 23′, 29′; tot: 76′.

Six in a row for Calzedonia Verona, and counting. A perfect game for the team of Nikola Grbic, who annihilated the defending champs Azimut Modena 3-0. In front of a great sell out crowd, the Gialloblù of Verona was great since the start, with a great Mitar Djuric in the first set. In second an outstanding job down the net of Simone Anzani and Aidan Zingel put Verona in front 2-0, in third again Verona in front, three match points killed by Modena, from 24-22 until the tie, but Mitar Djuric again sealed the win for Calzedonia, in the madhouse of the sold out AGSM Forum.

It was a perfect game for Verona, in every single fundamental, dominating the game thanks above all to a great game of Michele Baranowicz, a game without mistakes. Now Verona can be a dangerous outsider looking out to the playoff bracket. Not only the “big four contenders” for the final title, now Verona is a reality.
On the other hand, Modena suffered alot the serve of Verona, without being able to a threat in the serve, leaving to Calzedonia the opportunity to attack without pressure and executing in the best way

MVP Michele Baranowicz (Calzedonia Verona)
Attendence: 5410

Luigi Randazzo (Calzedonia Verona): “This was a very important test for us, we are working hard in practice, we did it especially in last two weeks. We played as a team, we wanted this win, and we got it”.

Roberto Piazza (Allenatore Azimut Modena): “We played under our expectations, we are Modena we cannot play this way. Any game is easy and we need to play every game like a no tomorrow game. This is not the real Modena, that’s for sure. We need to look deep inside us and solve the problema we saw in this game, like the side out play, which did not worked at all on today”.

The Most Valuable Player of this game has been Osmany Juantorena, real go to guy for Gianlorenzo Blengini’s team, 18 points with an astonishing 75% in attack, out of 64% of all Lube’s attack. 17 points also for Tsvetan Sokolov, 12 for Jiri Kovar and 10 for Davide Candellaro.
Poor attack for Sir Safety, any player in double digits, the best scorer was Aaron Russell with 9. the hammers Zaytsev and Atanasijevic only with 5 and 7 points.

MVP Osmany Juantorena (Cucone Lube Civitanova)

Andrea Bari (Sir Safety Conad Perugia): “Apart second and fourth set, we have caim in the first. If we won those set the game could be different. We tried to come back, but we weren’t able to do it. Now, in this moment, Lube is playing better than us. We can say it, without problems. We have to work to reach this level, I think this is the top level of the tournament”.

Osmany Juantorena (Cucine Lube Civitanova): “Most of the match has been decided by the first set. then we were great. They played not so good, they missed something in the crucial moments. We took advantage of this and we won. But we have to keep calm, this was only a regular season game, and the season is still long”.
