Whoever thought it would be a walk in the park had it all wrong. There were a lot of twists and turns in front of over 2500 fans. The hosts took the opening two sets but something went wrong from the third and Sora started to block and attack more accurately. Zlatanov and co were struggling to deal with Sora’s serves in the fourth but found a way to tie it at 20 all. However, Miskevich took over with an ace to make it 23-24 and the deciding spike on 26-24. Piacenza got back to its best in the tie-break with the LVP Yosifov as leader.
Viktor Yosifov (LPR Piacenza): “We played good volleyball in the first two sets, but then we started to make a few more mistakes, especially on the serve. Sora consequently played better and made it hard for us. The most important thing was to win it, we’re happy we managed to do that. I am also satisfied with my performance and the MVP award ».

Full of confidence and full of desire after four consecutive wins, Verona made it five straight coming back from 1-0 down to win it 3-1 over Milan. In spite of being last from bottom, Milan played some good volleyball just like they had done of late, against Modena for exemple. Verona failed to settle early and Milan got the first set. The hosts improved their blocking and took the second. They would go on to win it in four sets behind yet another MVP performance from Kovacevic who scored 21 points with 70%.
Nikola Grbic (coach Calzedonia Verona): “I said it yesterday. I have played enough games in my career to know that these ones are among the toughest. They had injured players but played to get out of the crisis. We worked extremely hard this week and you could feel the players were tired, we also lacked composure. It was hard but I am happy we took those difficult three points against a team that gave it a great fight and made it very hard for us ».
Riccardo Sbertoli (Revivre Milano): “I am very disappointed, we could have deserved a point, we could have pushed it to the tie-break. We’ve been playing well against excellent teams but we can ‘t seem to take points. We played well against two teams well above us in the standings, the gap was not obvious. That was pure entertainment from the beginning with Onwuelo sealing the first for Modena, then De Cecco led the way for Perugia in the second. A Petric ace re-gave the lead to the hosts in the third, but Perugia fought back again to force a fifth.
