Seven days after the last one, Castellana Grotte faced another marathon against a perseverant Potenza team. In the end, led by MVP Bruno Canuto (16 points, 56% in attack), Castellana eventually clinched victory and celebrated the title of winter champ at the halfway point of this first phase.
« We knew how difficult it would be but it might even have been harder than we first thought – said coach Pino Lorizio – But once again we had a good reaction when we were in trouble. We remained composed in the clutch time against a tough opposition so this is a good sign. We’ve done way better than we expected so far but we know that if we want to stay up there we have to work even harder ».
