All smiles again for Trento in the third friendly of the pre-season. This time Lorenzetti’s men had the better of Verona in straight sets in the first Villafranca trophy. Thanks to this win, Giannelli and co will be able to face one last telling test before next week’s SuperCup. They will face Piacenza in the final tomorrow. The attack was Trento’s main strength, they had excellent percentages (63%) as Giannelli sent three players in double figures : the Argentine middle blocker Solé, Slovenian spiker Urnaut and captain Lanza.
« It’s true that Verona was missing important players but the attitude of the team was excellent for three sets – said coach Angelo Lorenzetti – I am satisfied because this good performance comes at the end of an intense as well as positive training week. The third game we’ll play tomorrow against Piacenza will give us even more indications than the previous ones. A week from the Italian SuperCup, we still have a lot of progress to make ».
