Siena announced it reached an agreement with Paolo Tofoli, who will be the new head coach for the 2016-17 season. Tofoli is one of the winningest coaches in the history of Italian volleyball, be that at club or international level. He began his coaching career in women’s volleyball at Pesaro in 2010. He was soon to become the assistant coach of Italy’s Women national team. In July 2013, he signed for Tuscania (B1) where he helped the team to promotion, then a third place in the first season in the Serie A2 as well as a cup semi-final.

“It’s an honour for me to have been chosen by President Giammarco Bisogno who I really want to thank – said Paolo Tofoli – I think Siena is an extremely well-organised club which aims very high. I am very ambitious myself, so my goal will be to bring Siena in the A1 even if it will obviously not be easy because it will be a very tough league. The main characteristic of the new Siena will be the one of a team that never gives up. They will be seen as a tough team who won’t surrender and won’t give anything easy to its opponents”.
