The Grottazzolina squad came back from Siena with a convincing and reassuring 3-2 victory in its last friendly game of the pre-season. The tie-break was tight and spectacular. Siena was effective in reception but made mistakes. At 12 all, Grottazzolina got the winning run with Patriarca scoring the point that sealed it.

We struggled in reception on their jump serve but the boys stayed united, they were solid in dig and that’s why we managed to stay in the game. We’re happy, we needed a boost before the league begins after the poor game against Potenza Picena. There was no reason to put our heads down on Wednesday, but now there’s no reason to get carried away either.
